Size guide
Every teepee we sell is the same size, so this page answers the question once, for all fourteen designs. Below: the numbers, how much room you actually need, and a thirty-second test that tells you for certain.
THE NUMBERS
Every design is the same size
Fourteen colours and prints, one build. That means this page answers the sizing question once, for all of them.
The floor is a 110 × 110 cm square and the peak sits at 150 cm — the Fox & Bear is the one exception at 160 cm. The frame is four solid pine poles, each a single piece, tied at the top and held in sewn cotton sleeves. Loosen the tie and the whole thing folds flat.
HOW MUCH ROOM YOU ACTUALLY NEED
Fits most UK bedrooms. Snug in a box room.
Leave a clear square of roughly 1.3 × 1.3 metres — the footprint plus enough space to walk round it and open the door fully.
That fits comfortably in most UK bedrooms and playrooms. In a box room it will be snug but workable in a corner, and it is worth measuring before you order rather than after.
THE MASKING-TAPE TEST
Thirty seconds, and you'll know
- 1Mark a 110 cm square
On the floor, exactly where the teepee would go. Masking tape, chalk, four books — anything you can see from the doorway.
- 2Walk all the way round it
If you can get past without touching a bed, a radiator or a wardrobe door, there is room for the poles and the door to open.
- 3Look up
The peak sits at 150 cm. Check nothing hangs into that space — a sloping ceiling, a shelf, a light fitting.

What that actually means in a room

Who fits inside
Two children with a book, comfortably. An adult can sit up inside with their legs crossed — which matters more than you'd think, because they always want you in there too.

Ages 3 to 12
The peak is 150 cm, so a six-year-old stands up inside it and a ten-year-old still fits sitting. Under three, keep an adult in the room.

When it's in the way
Loosen the top tie, slide the poles out and it leans flat behind a door or under a bed. Five minutes to put up, less to take down.
INDOORS OR OUT?
Indoors, mainly
The cotton canvas is breathable and lovely in the garden on a warm, dry afternoon — but it is not waterproof. Bring it in before rain and don't leave it out overnight.
If you want something that genuinely lives outside, the Hanging Tipi Hammock is made from weather-resistant fabric and hangs from a branch or a beam.
SIZING QUESTIONS
The ones people ask before ordering
Will it fit next to a single bed?
In most cases yes, in a corner. A standard UK single bed is 90 cm wide; in a 2.4 × 3 m box room that usually leaves a workable 1.3 m square at the foot or beside the bed. Mark it out with tape first — it is the only way to be sure.
Can it go under a sloping ceiling?
Only where the ceiling is at least 150 cm at the point where the peak sits, plus a little clearance for the poles crossing above the tie. Loft rooms often work if you place it away from the lowest wall.
How much does it weigh, and can one person move it?
Easily. It is cotton and pine — one adult can lift the whole thing assembled and shuffle it across a room, or take the canvas off and carry the poles separately.
Does the door need extra space in front?
The door panels tie back against the poles rather than swinging out, so no. The 1.3 m square already allows for getting in and out comfortably.
Two children share a room. Do we need two?
Usually not. Two children fit inside one teepee with a book. If they each want their own, the Two-Tone Grey & Beige is the design most often chosen for shared rooms because it suits both.
How big is the box it arrives in?
It ships flat, in one long box — the poles are the longest item in it. One person can carry it in from the door.
